Server virtualization quiz: Question 7

Answser to server virtualization quiz: Question 7

7. True or false? Blade servers are required to run server virtualization software.

a) True
b) False

Answer: False

The choice of hardware is really dependent on the needs of the data center as a whole. Virtual machines are added onto a server, and in that respect, virtualization is analogous to installing a new program into your computer. In effect, virtualization can be run on any server. In other words, there is no one kind of server that a virtual machine must run on.
