APC links to HP Operations Manager: News in brief

APC infrastructure management software integrates with HP Operations Manager for real-time power and cooling monitoring; and more news in brief.

APC integrates with HP Operations Manager
APC’s InfraStruxure Central data center infrastructure management software now integrates with HP Operations Manager so that IT managers can detect and monitor real-time changes in data center power and cooling from the popular HP Operations Manager console. InfraStruxure Central exports its device hierarchy and device status -- as well as alarm notifications and historical data -- into Operations Manager using a “smart” plug-in, which is currently available. APC is formally known as APC by Schneider Electric.

Power Assure collects data from Starline meters
Power Assure’s EM/4 energy management software can now collect data from the Starline Critical Power Monitors (CPM), including Starline’s  Busway and Raceway power distribution systems.Using SNMP and ModBus, EM/4 collects energy-use data and helps data center operators optimize energy efficiency, maintain service levels, maximize use of available space and power, and shift load within and across sites. EM/4’s Starline integration is available now.

Siemon adds scaled-down data center cabinet
Siemon now offers a smaller version of its VersaPOD data center cabinet that does not include the company’s Zero-U vertical patching and cable management. That design is  better suited to server deployments than the larger 760 mm-wide VersaPOD models, which accommodate network switches and storage arrays, the company said. The smaller unit also provides efficient thermal management with its highly perforated doors. The VersaPOD features an open floor design, multiple roof entry points to allow for routing of horizontal and backbone cable, vertical exhaust ducts, roof-mounted cooling fans, and support for hot-aisle/cold-aisle accessories like brush guards and grommets. It is available in both 1,000 mm (40 inch) and 1200 mm (48 inch) depths.
