By having PHP available for i5/OS, System i customers will now have the ability to develop Web applications or create Web front ends for existing applications written in RPG, C, C++ or Java. Zend Core for i5/OS also includes a toolkit that enables PHP applications to access the DB2 database and other resources in i5/OS.
