I am an MVS sysprog with little or no knowledge of CICS internals. I have inherited a project from my predecessor regarding CICS temporary storage sharing. We have CICS TS 1.3.
Currently, the temporary storage is handled via CICS FOR (how can I find out?) We want to implement CICSPLEX and CPSM and use coupling facility to manage temporary queues. Can you please point me in the right direction, some reading material or user experience documentation? Thanks for your advice.
It looks like you want to share a TSQ between several CICS regions. Thus, you have put it into a FOR which is used by all the relevant CICS regions. The name of the FOR may be hard-coded in each of the XC READQ TS commands (via the SYSID) or more suitably, there will be a RDO TSMODEL definition that will route all requests to the named TSQ to the FOR.
Now then, you want to get rid of the FOR and place the TSQ into the coupling facility for better performance. All you have to do is alter the TSMODEL by replacing the SYSID with a POOLNAME. This pool name is what goes into the DFHXQLS_
