My question concerns reading and analyzing CICS IOCS dumps. I can see in the CICS problem determination book, the commands and domains I can look at in the dump. The one thing I have never been able to find is a methodology listing the steps to be taken when analyzing a dump. Even a list of hints and tips would be useful. Do you know anywhere in the manuals or on the Web I can find a documented plan for analyzing these dumps?
I've always considered that dump reading is somewhat of an intuitive thing. My chums in Service all have different ways of going about diagnosis and I think a lot depends on experience and having a nasty mind about what might be going on. I suggest you have a look at the guide/share Web sites where I recall reading about user experiences in dump reading and I think there are also some papers around from the CICS Service people as well.
