Our system is running OS/390 V2R9, CICS/TS 1.3, and DFSMS/MVS V1R5.
I would like to know how can we control or tune the VSAM file I/O buffers in a CICS region? Where such I/O buffers located in CICS region? If CICS failed to obtain enough buffers for VSAM file I/O, how would CICS handle the request?
Which CICS books will have such information?
I think you will find the answers to all your questions about VSAM file buffers, and many more besides, in the CICS Performance Guide (for CICS TS V1.3 this is SC33-1699-02).
