Getting started with Linux administration

I have been a Windows administrator for past six years, and I am now looking to get into Unix and Linux administration. I only have a basic feel for Linux installation and configuration. Where do I start my learning experience?

We have some learning guides that contain links to many articles and tutorials on the subjects you seek to study. First, there's our guide to Linux basics for Windows pros. From there, you can move on to our Migration & interoperability learning guide: Windows, Linux and OSS. To get more information about Unix and Linux, check out our Unix-to-Linux learning guide.

Looking for books on Linux administration? Check out our chapter downloads section, and you'll find links to many books on that subject. These chapter excerpts, such as the ones listed below, will give you a preview of several Linux primers.

You'll also find links to many other resources in our Best Web Links sections on Getting started with Linux and Training.
