Can't find lost sa password in errorlog file

I have a question related to the lost sa password. I lost my sa password as well and tried to apply your solution. Somehow the password does not end up in the errorlog file, or I must have missed it. Could you help me with this? I have another account in my database but none seem to have sufficient privileges to change the sa password, or change its own properties to become sa equivalent.

The following information might be useful for helping me:

auditinit]# more version
Auditinit/12.5.2/EBF 11799/P/Linux Intel/Enterprise
Linux/2186/32-bit/OPT/Fri Mar 26 21:30:17 2004
[root@Buzz auditinit]# uname -a
Linux Buzz 2.4.7-10 #1 Thu Sep 6 17:27:27 EDT 2001 i686 unknown

OK, this is actually displayed when you start Sybase. Look at my startup screen. Please note the line "-psa"
Once you have started Sybase with startserver -f command, a line will appear as below:
New SSO password for sa:bpzinnxhdgyam9
This is not written to the errorlog BUT will be displayed on the screen. Make sure that you spot it.

Good luck.
