Ken, do you know if CICS TS 2.2 can communicate with CICS 4.1??
I am interested because we have some applications on CICS 4.1 that will die on 2Q2003, and we decided not to invest in the migration to TS 1.3 of these CICS Regions, and on the other hand we have some other regions that will be migrated from TS 1.3 to TS 2.2. later this year and they need to talk each other until 2Q2003.
I assume that you want to set up an MRO configuration within a single OS/390 image, or spanning several OS/390 images in a parallel sysplex configuration, to exploit transaction routing, function shipping and the like, that includes CICS systems at various levels, specifically CICS/ESA V4.1, CICS TS V1.3 and CICS TS V2.2. And your question is - will that work?
The short answer is - YES. You will need the latest version of the DFHIRP program: for details see the CICS TS V2.2 Migration Guide (GC34-5984).
BUT you must be aware that CICS/ESA V4.1 goes out of service December 31st 2002 and you will not be able to get any assistance with problems encountered in a CICS/ESA V4.1 region after that date, regardless of the cause.
