The following presentation was given at Data Center Decisions Spring 2005 in New York.

Many organizations are moving from Unix and Linux platforms to Windows platforms in the data center. What's behind this migration to Microsoft technology? Kackie Cohen, Silicon Valley-based consultant, answers the most common questions that IT executives have when considering moving their own enterprises partially or completely to Windows. Kackie also examines Windows' costs, scalability, reliability, availability, and security as compared to Unix and Linux. And finally, no discussion of Windows in the data center would be complete without a look at the real world best practices for implementing Windows in the data center and the "hidden costs" of open source software that have driven so many Linux enterprises to migrate to Windows.
