Liebert NX UPS with Softscale
Emerson Network Power's Liebert NX UPS with Softscale earned silver this year. It comes in two versions: the first can scale from 40 kVA to 60 kVA and then 80 kVA, while the second starts at 80 kVA and can scale to 100 kVA or 120 kVA.
Scalability is the systems' main benefit. Data center managers can scale power capacity without having to buy new modules. This reduces the footprint and amount of hardware to manage. The additional capacity is gained through a software key that users buy from Liebert when they need the power.
The unit is efficient, too, with a 97% efficiency rating, exceeding the 95% "state-of-the-art" designation published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2007.
