APC's InfraStruXure InRow Cooling Units are modular, scalable, CRAC unit that specifically addresses high density servers (i.e., blade servers). Two variations are currently offered: InRow RC and InRow SC.

InRow RC is a chilled water based system for small to large data centers. It provides up to 30kW of cooling per unit and cools a full 30KW per rack with complete redundancy. InRow SC is a self-contained, air-cooled unit for small data centers and server rooms that can provide up to 7kW of cooling per unit. Designed to fit in-row with IT racks (1/2 rack footprint: 12" wide x 42" deep x 81" high), the cooling units provide conditioned air via hot swappable, user replaceable fans located at the front of the unit directly to front of IT racks. Air exhausted from IT racks is pulled into the back of the InRow units to be cooled. Allowing placement of air conditioning in row with IT racks closely couples the cooling engine with the IT heat load. This enables the unit to capture the hot air before it mixes with the room allowing for increased cooling capacity, efficiency and predictability.

Multiple units are quickly and easily selected (no configuration required) and are easily deployed into new or existing data centers. Units can be added as IT racks and equipment are added. Integrated network manageability via web, SNMP, or telnet provides robust remote control and visibility.

One self-contained unit (no additional components), which will provide up to 5.3kW of cooling, will cost $7,200.
