CiRBA's Data Center Intelligence (DCI) Software 4.4
CiRBA's Data Center Intelligence (DCI) Software 4.4 got the nod from judges for the bronze. In November, CiRBA released version 4.5 that includes additional workload analysis capabilities. With its DCI tools, CiRBA is capitalizing on the need to monitor performance in virtualized environments. DCI 4.4 enables data center staff to analyze both business and technical constraints when planning workloads across servers.
Color-coded maps provide detailed analysis to help with server consolidation plans. The DCI software is integrated with VMware's Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS)--an add-on to VMotion that migrates virtual machines based on workload balancing metrics to determine motion paths for virtual machines--enabling IT departments to create and manage DRS rules IT administrators can also use DCI 4.4 to model VMware workloads with an algorithm that automatically calculates CPU overhead. In the opinion of the judges, DCI's features enable data center staff to better tackle many of the management challenges that come with virtualization.
