Hewlett-Packard Co. Insight Power Manager
Coming in third is Hewlett-Packard Co.'s Insight Power Manager (IPM). Focusing solely on the power side of the equation, IPM allows users to measure power consumption and air temperature for servers, as well as setting power caps for servers that don't need the maximum consumption listed on the nameplates.
IPM employs a graphical display and and dashboard analysis that helps data center managers easily understand crucial information, such as server power consumption and annual cost of power. The policy-based power management system can be adjusted for different outputs determined by time of day, allowing data center staff to reduce consumption during off-peak hours.
