The best data center products of 2008

The competition for SearchDataCenter.com's 2008 data center product of the year awards was much tougher this year than in previous years. In years past we included up to eight categories with three finalists per section, but this year we decided to limit the event to three categories: Data center infrastructure (such as backup power, data center cooling and other support products), enterprise server hardware and systems management tools. We sought out the best of the best, because in this economy every cent of your data center budget counts.
We requested submissions from vendors and users. The winning products come from all corners of the data center industry, from well-established companies to companies you may have never heard of.
Our independent judges scored products based on the following criteria:
- Ease of integration into existing environments
- Functionality
- Innovation
- Manageability
- Performance
- Value
