Micron Technology's DDR3 server memory modules have been validated with Intel's Xeon processor chips, code-named Nehalem.
Micron's validated 1, 2, 4 and 8 GB DDR3 modules deliver speeds of 1,066 Mbps and 1,333 Mbps for the new chips, which can boost server throughput when used together, according to Micron.
Now that Intel Xeon has an integrated memory controller, the chips gain performance benefits from DDR3, according to Micron. At peak performance, for example, the data transfer rate of DDR3 running at 1,333 Mbps enables the processor to access up to 1,250 Web pages per second from memory.
Valued-added resellers and customers can find information about Micron's DDR3 memory modules on Micron's website.
