Different areas of the data center can have different levels of redundancy

Different areas of the data center can have different levels of redundancy. Not all IT loads necessarily have to be on an uninterruptible power supply, for example. Some operations -- HR applications, for example -- might be able to endure an hours-long outage without a significant effect on the business. If that is the case, data centers can free up power capacity to use elsewhere.
