Data center 2010 spending slideshow: Data center construction boom has busted

In this seventh slide of the Data center 2010 spending slideshow, data shows that the data center construction boom has busted.

Data center construction boom has busted

Just under 20% of data centers will face capacity constraints

Less than 20% of data centers will run into capacity constraints over the next 12 to 18 months. Compare that to November 2007, when nearly 80% of respondents said they were involved in a data center construction or renovation project. The data centers that are running out of power and cooling are making do with what they have, and the majority are turning to server consolidation projects in existing facilities.
