The 2010 Data Center Decisions Purchasing Survey Report

The 2010 Data Center Decisions Purchasing Intentions survey results are in. After a year of debilitating budget cuts, IT spending has begun to turn around.

According to respondents, virtualization is a central focus, and data centers are virtualizing greater portions of their environment.

While new data center construction has slowed, purchases of server hardware, VMware virtualization and systems management tools remains strong.

While data center interest in cloud computing remains tentative, IT managers have shown interest in private cloud deployment given the opportunities for cost reduction and increasing automation and flexibility.
