Adrian Bowles, Principal Research Fellow, IT Strategy and Management, Robert Frances Group
Adrian has over 25 years of experience as a practitioner and academic in information technology with a focus on IT strategy and management. Adrian is also Director of Research and Education for the IT Compliance Institute, where he leads research on collaborative compliance strategies, and Adjunct Associate Professor of IS at New York University's Stern School of Business, where he teaches "Introduction to IT/E-commerce" and "IT Strategy and Management."
His pioneering work on inter-firm collaboration forms the basis of the CoSource methodology. CoSourcing facilitates the development of shared intellectual property resources for any information-intensive industry. Beyond CoSourcing, Adrian is experienced in digital business strategies and technologies, facilitated collaboration, open source software and open standards, and object-oriented/component-based application development. As the former President of Digital Strategy Works (DSW), Dr. Bowles pioneered an effort to support enterprises planning to develop, adopt, and invest in IT for competitive advantage.
Adrian is a regular speaker or chairman at industry conferences, including IT Compliance World, Component Strategies, Database World, DB Expo, Object Expo, Object World, and XML/Web Services. He is a former columnist for Application Development Trends, Object Magazine, and Software Magazine, and has contributed articles and analysis to several other major industry publications.
