QUESTION POSED ON: 26 February 2002

With the withdrawal of VisualAge Interspace is there a "best" method to allow existing CICS COBOL component to be accessed by a VISUAL BASIC screen (on the Client/Server and/or Web)?

>

The recommended way to access CICS programs from Visual Basic is to use the COM classes provided with the CICS Universal Client V3.1.3 or CICS Transaction Gateway V4. The Programming Manuals you should consult are CICS Universal Client COM Automation programming (SC33-1924) or CICS Transaction Gateway COM Automation Programming (SC34-5946).
