SUSE Manager is an open source infrastructure management tool for Linux systems. SUSE Manager is sold by SUSE, a German provider of Linux distributions, but administrators can use the tool to manage both their SUSE environments, as well as distributions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

IT can deploy SUSE Manager on-premises within their own data center or in the public cloud, and use the tool to manage workloads across both environments. The tool can manage Linux distributions across different hardware platforms, including x86 and IBM z Systems, and works across different virtualization environments, such as VMware, Xen, Hyper-V and KVM. SUSE Manager supports cloud platforms including SUSE OpenStack Cloud and Amazon Web Services.
In addition, SUSE partners with a variety of hardware and software vendors, whose management tools can also be integrated with the tool.
SUSE Manager releases
SUSE continuously adds new features to SUSE Manager, and makes those new features available via new releases and updates to the tool.
SUSE Manager 3, a major release of the tool in 2016, adds integration with the open source software Salt for automation and configuration management. The latest SUSE release also comes with native support for RHEL 6 and 7.
