talkerOn the Internet, especially in the United Kingdom, a talker is a Web site that hosts online chatting or conversations entered at the keyboard. In the U.S., the term chat site is more common. Talkers and chat sites tend to be "middle-of-the-road" in terms of interests and participants. Technically, MUDs have conversations but these tend to be much more focused in purpose and in the intensity and dedication of participants. A special kind of talker is one that is part of an Internet Relay Chat ( IRC ).
