Installing SLED 10

Open source software and apps expert Bernard Golden says that installing SUSE Linux Desktop 10 isn't any harder than installing Windows.

Could you set forth the specific steps, like a step-by-step guide, to installing SUSE Linux Desktop 10? How different is this installation from a Red Hat desktop installation?

Installing SuSE 10 is very straightforward and you really don't need any step-by-step instructions. Just pop CD1...

(of the DVD version if that is what you have) into your CD drive and reboot the machine. You will get an install wizard that walks you through the process, offering default choices that will work well for you. If you can install Microsoft Windows, you can install SuSE 10. Red Hat is also very easy, although its wizard (naturally) looks different. Again, if you can install Microsoft Windows, you can install Red Hat.
