I've got this problem in configuring my Samba server to be seen in the network neighborhood of Windows 95/98 OS....

I am using Linux 7.2 with Samba 3.0.1. The workstations are running on Windows95/98/2000, and the server on XP.
Sounds like a sync issue. Can you check to see if your Linux password sync is set to yes? If not, set it, and then restart the daemon process.
