Does StarOffice work as well on Windows or Unix as it does on Linux? Does OpenOffice.org also work well on any OS? I've used StarOffice and OpenOffice.org on Linux, Solaris and Windows, and have noticed no differences in how the program works. The printing features are different, of course, between Windows and Unix, but that's pretty much it.
On Solaris, one is more likely to have a client networked installation rather than standalone, and I think standalone is better, but that's an implementation issue, rather than a platform issue.
